Kenosha Unified School District has been named among the top 20 communities in Wisconsin for music education by a national foundation recognizing its efforts.

The National Association of Music Merchants honored Unified with the designation of being among the Best Communities for Music Education in the country. The award is given by the national foundation, recognizing school programs that provide music access and education to all students.

Superintendent Sue Savaglio-Jarvis, in a released statement, said receiving the recognition showcases Unified’s “dedication to educating the whole child by offering a variety of music options to students from elementary through high school.”

“This would not be possible without the wonderful support of our community and our dedicated staff who ensure our programs and curriculum are implemented with fidelity,” she said.
