The Kenosha Police Department, in response to a growing number of active shooters in schools, theaters and other public places, wants everyone to know how to respond during such a crisis.

Members of the police department’s Crime Prevention Unit are visiting workplaces, schools and churches offering training to help prevent and minimize the danger caused by an active shooter bent on inflicting injuries and death.

Crime Unit facilitators, including officers Jeff Wamboldt and Ron Francis, are teaming in getting the message out to people at organizations throughout the city. They are putting on presentations featuring examples of actual active shooter situations, explaining how best to respond.
