The Kenosha Plan Commission will view plans calling for the development of a 1 million-square-foot speculative manufacturing facility to be built just west of Interstate 94 near the Uline and Amazon facilities.

The developer, Ridge Kenosha 120th, an affiliate of the Chicago-based Logistics property company, plans to build a manufacturing facility and warehouse to accompany future industrial growth along that corridor of the city.

Before that can happen, however, the city commission will consider a petition to annex two of the three parcels the facility would sit on and then rezone them from agriculture to heavy manufacturing, according to Brian Wilkie, a development coordinator with the planning and zoning unit of the city’s Community Development department.

Following approval, the petition goes to the city council for approval. Final approval may come after the second reading in mid-April.
