MILWAUKEE — De acuerdo a la prensa Asociada, La fiscalía en Milwaukee tiene pruebas suficientes para llevar a juicio a un hombre blanco de 62 años acusado de lanzar ácido en la cara a un hispano en un ataque considerado un crimen de odio racial, falló el miércoles un juez. Clifton Blackwell está acusado de arrojarle ácido en la cara a Mahud Villalaz en Milwaukee en noviembre, diciéndole que había entrado al país ilegalmente y que era parte de una invasión a Estados Unidos. Villalaz sufrió quemaduras de segundo grado. El abogado de Blackwell pidió desestimar el caso y ese pedido fue denegado. Blackwell deberá comparecer el 3 de febrero en la corte para responder a los cargos. Su abogado, Gary Rosenthal, no respondió de inmediato un mensaje pidiendo comentario. De ser hallado culpable de causar intencionalmente daños físicos, Blackwell podría ser sentenciado a hasta 25 años de cárcel. Pero si es convicto además de crimen de odio y de uso de arma mortífera, podría enfrentar 10 años adicionales. Blackwell está detenido bajo fianza de 20.000 dólares.Villalaz es un ciudadano estadounidense que emigró de Perú.
