A warrant has been issued for the arrest of a sex offender living in Pleasant Prairie who allegedly cut off his GPS tracking device.

According to a criminal complaint in the case filed Friday, Felipe Mendoza, 72, is wanted on counts of sex offender-fail to update information and for tampering with a global positioning system tracking device, both felonies, for cutting off his monitoring bracelet and failing to notify authorities of any change in his address.

Mendoza had previously been convicted of first-degree sexual assault on Feb. 4, 1992, and again on June 18, 2017, both in Kenosha County.
