A 71-year-old Salem Lakes man repeatedly turned up at a former girlfriend’s place of employment screaming insults at her in front of customers, crashed a birthday party she was attending to harass her, and allegedly blew up explosives in her front yard, authorities said.

Now the man, Robert L. Schultz, is being held in jail on $4,000 bond, charged with stalking, disorderly conduct and violating a harassment injunction.

Relationship ended

According to the criminal complaint, Schultz’s former girlfriend ended a relationship with him in September.

Since then, according to the complaint, he has repeatedly threatened and harassed her, including leaving a message saying that “if she did not get back together with him, he would make her life a living hell.”
