Drug Company Sets up Heroin Overdose Antidote Rebates
A pharmaceutical company has agreed to provide rebates to public entities in Wisconsin that purchase the heroin overdose antidote Narcan.
Attorney General Brad Schimel announced the deal today. The agreement calls for Amphastar Pharmaceuticals to provide a $6 rebate for every Narcan syringe public entities purchase from the company through Feb. 1, 2017. State, county and local government agencies as well as law enforcement and other government entities that distribute Narcan will be eligible for the rebate.
Schimel said in a news release that Amphastar has reached similar agreements with other states, including Ohio and New York.
Barca Endorses Clinton for President
Rep. Peter Barca, D-Kenosha, has formally endorsed Hillary Clinton for president. Barca is the Assembly Democratic leader.
In a press release, he stated “Clinton has a lifelong record of fighting for our families and the American Dream from her early start at the Children’s Defense Fund through her service as Secretary of State. At a time when Wisconsin is losing middle class families at an alarming rate, we need a leader like Hillary Clinton who will tackle the issues keeping Wisconsinites awake at night.”
Wisconsin’s presidential primary is April 5.
Lollapalooza Headliners
Radiohead, the Red Hot Chili Peppers and LCD Soundsystem are among the acts that will play in Chicago for the 25th anniversary of the Lollapalooza music festival. The festival is July 28-31. There will be more than 170 musical performances.
