Wisconsin — The Wisconsin Department of Health Services confirmed a second pediatric flu death in the state. In a statement sent to WISN 12 News, the department wrote: “The second pediatric death of this season was reported in the last week of March. The patient was from the southeast region of the state. While the flu has peaked, flu activity is continuing. We urge people to continue to takeprecautions (good hygiene, flu shot, etc.). Thank you for working to get the message out about the dangers of flu and the importance of the flu vaccine.” The state’s first pediatric flu death was reported in February. Pediatricians said they continue to see a rise in flu cases in the spring.
