A lift station disabled by lightning caused sewage to flow into Paddock Lake Tuesday.
According to village officials, a resident reported seeing sanitary sewer water flowing out of a manhole cover into a channel off the lake around 10 a.m. Tuesday.
Upon investigation, village staff determined that lightning had knocked out power to the lift station.
As village staff worked to repair the lift station, tanker trucks were brought in to vacuum sewer water from ditches and roads.
