A retired Kenosha County Sheriff’s Department captain took the stand in his own defense Tuesday, adamantly denying he sexually assaulted a disabled resident of the care facility operated by his wife.
“I did not, and I never would,” Clarence “Skip” Mielke answered when asked repeatedly if he had assaulted the woman. “No, never. I never would.”
But when questioned by a prosecutor, Mielke could only speculate how swabs taken from the woman’s breasts during a sexual assault examination showed a DNA match for his saliva and how his DNA was found on the inside of the woman’s bra.
