Students are working hard to put the finishing touches on their designs for the annual CREO Fashion Show at Mount Mary University. The event’s theme, “Urban Oasis,” will combine urban sensibility with the wild, untamed influence of nature. CREO will take place on Friday, May 9 in the Alumnae Dining Room (Bergstrom Hall) on the Mount Mary campus, with show times at 1, 5 and 7:30 p.m.
This year’s production was planned and produced by seven fashion show coordination students and will feature over 100 originally designed and constructed looks by 30 designers. Several students offered a preview of the 2025 event.
Senior Leann Wolf’s collection uses a zero-waste approach, exploring innovative and eco-friendly ways to maximize efficiency and repurpose excess material. After a 2024 class design prompt to “upcycle” donated Bucks gear into runway ready looks, Wolf decided to expand upon the idea of sustainable fashion. Using digital design software and ingenuity, she was able to maximize layout efficiency for her garments and repurpose all fabric scraps into other pieces.
Fashion certificate student Meg Troy will showcase her stylish collection of casual, workwear and knitted garments. Troy took a two-year break from a successful law career to fulfill a creative calling. She debuted her work during the 2024 CREO student fashion show and will once again showcase her original designs at this year’s event.
“We believe 2025 is Mount Mary’s largest student designer fashion show to date,” shared Fashion department chair Ashley Brooks. “We cannot wait to reveal the efforts of our talented students. This year’s show is not to be missed!”
