Today, I’d like to share with you how lack of forgiveness can affect your leadership capabilities. Lack of forgiveness begins when we are offended. We are offended, offense leads to lack of forgiveness which leads to resentment, that leads to roots of bitterness, hatred then lastly and most severely, may lead to a seared conscience, at times may even cause someone to take another’s life. If a leader lives with an offense that he or she never got over or overcame, they will lead with hurt, causing great harm to their organizations, teams and so forth. Have you ever worked for a company that had high turn over rates? Most times, it comes from bad leadership. People don’t leave a company, they leave bad leadership. With this is mind, I ask you today, who do you have to forgive? Forgiveness isn’t for the other person, it’s for you. Lack of forgiveness is like putting poison in a cup and drinking it yourself, expecting the other person to die.
