Crooks won’t run again for state Supreme Court

Wisconsin Supreme Court Justice Patrick Crooks says he won’t run for a third term.

Crooks issued a statement Wednesday saying he won’t seek re-election in April. Joe Donald, a Milwaukee County circuit judge, and Joanne Kloppenburg, a state appellate judge, are both running for Crooks’ seat.

Crooks, a former Brown County judge, won his first 10-year term on the high court in 1996 and won re-election in 2006. His current term ends on July 31. The 77-year-old Crooks is one of seven justices on the Supreme Court.
