Share in U.S. without health insurance falls to 10.4%

The share of Americans without health insurance fell sharply to 10.4 percent in 2014, according to a new Census Bureau report.

The numbers come from the first year in which key provisions of the Affordable Care Act aimed at extending coverage took effect. The number of uninsured fell to 33 million, a decline of 8.8 million from 2013.
