Milwaukee, WI — On Sunday, September 22, 2019 at approximately at 5:25 p.m., deputies were dispatched to a two-vehicle crash on I-94 eastbound at Hawley Rd. All three lanes of traffic were blocked, with one passenger pinned inside the vehicle that was struck. The Milwaukee Fire Department arrived on scene and extricated the passenger, who was conveyed to a local hospital. The driver of the vehicle that was struck, as well as a third individual, were also conveyed to a local hospital. Witnesses stated that the driver of the striking vehicle, identified as 28-year-old Danaille L. Vawikowski, lost control of her vehicle before striking the other vehicle. The deputy detected the odor of an intoxicant and conducted standard field sobriety tests on Ms. Vawikowski. Ms. Vawikowski performed poorly on the tests and was conveyed to a local hospital for a blood draw. Ms. Vawikowski faces charges of OWI Causing Great Bodily Harm.
