Madison, Wis. –Disaster survivor assistance (DSA) specialists and FEMA Corps staff are working in affected areas in southern and central Wisconsin, helping survivors of the severe storms and flooding that occurred from August 17 through September 14, 2018.

Canvassing will be conducted in each of the designated counties over the coming weeks— Crawford, Dane, Juneau, La Crosse, Monroe, Richland, Sauk and Vernon. Services provided include registering survivors for disaster assistance, updating their records and making referrals to community partners.

FEMA field personnel carry official identification. Residents are encouraged to ask for identification before providing personal information.

In addition to the registration opportunity offered by these teams, survivors can register online at www.DisasterAssistance.gov or through the FEMA App. Survivors can also register by calling 800-621-3362. TTY users can call 800-462-7585. Those who use 711 or Video Relay Services can call 800-621-3362 to register.

Disaster survivors who reported damage to local authorities still need to contact FEMA to receive FEMA assistance. Anyone who does not have a registration number is not yet registered.

The application deadline for FEMA assistance is December 17, 2018.
