Kenosha Alderman G. John Ruffolo pleaded guilty Thursday to felony stalking — making him ineligible to hold public office — and was sentenced to three years of probation.

“I’m very embarrassed just being here, I was never brought up that way,” Ruffolo told Judge Bruce Schroeder before he was sentenced. He apologized for his actions, saying he was wrong. “I realize it now and I am very, very sorry.”

Schroeder, in sentencing him, called Ruffolo’s actions “disgraceful, shameful and really very cruel.”
