Whistleblowers call for removal of VA watchdog
A man who helped expose over prescription of opiates at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Tomah wants to personally present President Barack Obama with a letter from whistleblowers across the country calling for the removal of the VA’s chief watchdog.
The letter from VA Truth Tellers, comprised of more than 40 whistleblowers from VA facilities in more than a dozen states, argues that interim VA Inspector General Richard Griffin is “unable to fulfill the responsibilities and duties” of the job.
Ryan Honl, a member of VA Truth Tellers who blew the whistle last fall on the over prescription of opiates to veterans in Tomah, hopes to deliver the letter to Obama when he’s in La Crosse.
