A 17-year-old Kenosha resident is being held on $7,000 bond, facing charges that he and another man beat a person unconscious after attacking him while he walked on 52nd Street.
Deshun Jackson was charged Tuesday with substantial battery-party to a crime, disorderly conduct and two counts of misdemeanor bail jumping for the Aug. 23 incident.
Witnesses told police two teenagers ran up behind a man walking along the 1600 block of 52nd Street at about 1:40 p.m. The man was looking at his phone and wearing headphones when he was attacked from behind.
Witnesses said the two teens beat the man and his head hit the road.
Two women driving by in separate cars witnessed the attack. One yelled at the teens, who ran away laughing, according to the criminal complaint, and both women stopped to help the unconscious victim.
