Shakers’ Haunted Bar to Give Ghost Tours in Spanish
Shaker’s Cigar Bar and World Café, 422 S. 2nd St. in Milwaukee, will have guides giving its popular Ghost Tours in Spanish beginning at 8:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 13, a first for the city of Milwaukee.
Shaker’s is known as one of the five most haunted restaurants in the country and the most haunted building in Milwaukee. The building was built on a cemetery in 1894 and has had a paranormal presence since.
It has been featured on the Discovery Channel and the Travel Channel among others. There are 11 active “resident” paranormal beings in the building that have been identified by experts. The tour encompasses the history of the residents and the building and oftentimes encounters happen.
“We’ve always had a large Hispanic clientele coming for the tours and this seems as a natural progression to make it so more people can easily share the Shaker’s haunted history,” says owner Bob Weiss.
Shaker’s has been at 422 S. 2nd St. since 1986. It currently hosts Ghost Tours Wed. through Sat. at 7 p.m., 8 p.m., and 8:30 p.m. Shaker’s also offers what is called a “2.0 Tour” at 10 p.m. Friday and Saturday where guides use divining rods to speak to the ghosts that are present. It is the perfect compliment to the original Ghost Tour.
