Milwaukee, WI– Hunger Task Force and Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield kick off a new three-year partnership at the Hunger Task Force Mobile Market next Wednesday. Anthem has generously committed $750,000 over the next three years to support Hunger Task Force and its Mobile Market and senior outreach programs. This collaboration represents one of Anthem’s largest philanthropic investment in Wisconsin. As part of a commitment to improving the communities in which it operates, Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield is working with Hunger Task Force in the Greater Milwaukee Area to increase older adults’ access to healthy food to help them improve their health and well-being. Anthem will also be at Mobile Market stops to be a resource to Medicare-eligible individuals looking for information about their health insurance options. During the Oct. 16 partnership kickoff event, representatives from Hunger Task Force and Anthem will address seniors at Highland Gardens, a senior housing facility in Milwaukee’s Avenues West neighborhood. Seniors in attendance will receive reusable grocery bags and buy-one-get-one milk vouchers, as well as the opportunity to connect with Anthem staff, benefits that will carry over to other Mobile Market sites this year. Seniors will also shop aboard the Mobile Market, a grocery store on wheels that brings fresh produce, meats and dairy to Milwaukee’s low-income neighborhoods.
