This morning, at approximately 8:30 a.m., a Maple Grove student was approached by an adult female on their way to school. The student was walking to school on W. Cold Spring Road when a car approached the student and offered a ride to school. The student refused and the driver continued to encourage the student to get into the car. The student ran to school, and the car did not follow.

The car is described as a 4-door black, average size car. The driver is a white woman between 40-50 years old. Anyone with any information is encouraged to contact the Greenfield Police Department at (414) 761-5300.

Please remind your children about the dangers of getting into cars with people they do not know. While the motivation of the driver is unknown, we do know that the student handled the situation perfectly by refusing to get into the car, getting to safety quickly, and alerting an adult as soon as they arrived to school.

Due to this event, please anticipate an increased police presence at Maple Grove before and after school.
