gallery_KMI_Kohls_webPenfield welcomed more than 105 volunteers from Kohl’s Department Stores to help with a major clean up and maintenance project.

Members of Kohl’s national Facilities Executive Team from all over the country generously shared their time and expertise to make some much needed improvements to the center; their expertise was enriched by carpet specialists from NW Carpets (check them out at https://nwrugs.com/).

Volunteers were at the center bright and early, eager to get started at 8 a.m. They worked on an impressive variety of tasks, including (but not limited to) the installation of new faucets, carpet and floor cleaning, window washing, refinishing classroom chairs, water damage repair, roof repair, mulching, cleaning vans and buses, and making repairs to various appliances in the kitchen. Since the volunteers were facility and maintenance professionals, they were able to tackle technical projects, make significant repairs and give advice for proper building and property care!

In addition to labor, these generous volunteers also donated supplies – like 30 yards of mulch, materials to rebuild the loading dock ramp, new wall mount shelving, deluxe floor mats for the entryway and refinishing materials. Their hard work paid off because by noon, it looked and felt like a brand new center!

Kudos to all the volunteers
