Kenosha sits between two of the largest coal plants in the region, with the Pleasant Prairie Power Plant producing 6.8 million megawatt hours of power in 2014 and the Oak Creek plant producing 8.1 million. Together they produce 60 percent of We Energies’ power – and more than 76 percent of the utility’s carbon dioxide emissions.
