Waukesha, Wis. — Community members are invited to tour ProHealth Care’s new heart and vascular center from 9 a.m. to noon Nov. 3 on the campus of ProHealth Waukesha Memorial Hospital.

Open house attendees will be able to meet members of the ProHealth Heart & Vascular Care team, receive free blood pressure screenings, watch cooking demonstrations, sample heart-healthy recipes, and see hands-free CPR demonstrations.

Flu vaccinations will also be available at the open house. ProHealth will verify insurance coverage and bill health plans for the immunizations. Cash, checks and credit cards will also be accepted.

The new center is a freestanding building on the northwest corner of the hospital campus, at 725 American Ave. It brings together in one convenient space all of ProHealth Heart & Vascular Care’s outpatient services. Patients will visit the center for cardiac and vascular diagnostics, provider office visits and consultations, and cardiac rehabilitation. Heart and vascular surgery, related interventional services and inpatient care will continue to be provided within the hospital.

A centerpiece of the new center is a cardiac and pulmonary rehabilitation gym. It includes:

• A two-lane walking track.

• 37 pieces of exercise and therapy equipment.

• A lateral stability trainer and parallel bars for strengthening hips and knees.

• Stations for patients to self-check blood pressure.

• Space for yoga and strength-training classes.

• Patient locker rooms with showers.

The new center also includes 28 patient exam rooms, large consultation rooms for family conferences, and ProHealth atrial fibrillation and arrhythmia programs.

Diagnostic and monitoring services in the building include:

• Stress testing with nuclear scanning capability. ProHealth’s new system has faster scan times and a reduced nuclear dose.

• Cardiac and vascular ultrasound.

• Electronic medical device monitoring.

Also included in the new center is a demonstration kitchen with a classroom.
