CIUDAD DE MÉXICO — De acuerdo a la Prensa Asociada, Las autoridades en el sur de México arrestaron a 11 hombres después de que el alcalde de la localidad Las Margaritas fue atado a la parte trasera de una camioneta y arrastrado por una calle, informaron funcionarios el miércoles. Los fiscales en el estado de Chiapas dijeron que al parecer el Jorge Luis Escandón Hernández no resultó herido de gravedad tras la agresión del martes. Agregaron que los manifestantes también dañaron la sede el ayuntamiento. La prensa local informó que la gente estaba enojada porque el gobierno local no cumplió su promesa de construir un camino en la localidad. En un video del incidente se ve a hombres armados con garrotes sacando a empujones de la alcaldía al funcionario. La Guardia Nacional estaba patrullando el área tras el incidente.
