The City of Racine will be accepting applications for the position of Building Code Compliance Inspector under the supervision of the Lead Building Code Enforcer and the Chief Building Inspector in City Development until March 2, 2018. The individual selected for this position will be responsible for performing property maintenance inspections of commercial and residential properties and issues legal orders to secure compliance with city building, zoning, and related codes.
A high school diploma or its equivalent, with an Associate Degree or 60 college credits in a related field is required. Applicant must possess a valid Wisconsin Driver’s License and have both a good driving record and reliable transportation. Must be able to obtain from the State of Wisconsin, Department of Professional Services, Safety and Buildings Division the Uniform Dwelling Code (UDC) Construction Inspector Certification within one year of hire date.
