A 16-year-old Milwaukee boy died at a hospital following a shooting near Clarke Square Park, according to the Milwaukee Police Department.
The shooting happened Wednesday, Sept. 16, shortly before 5 p.m. near the intersection of Layton Boulevard and Greenfield Avenue, police said. The area is near Clarke Square Park on Milwaukee’s South Side.
The victim was identified Monday as Cameron P. Bowen, according to police. He was transported to a local hospital following the shooting, where he later died from his injuries.
Milwaukee police said investigators are still working to determine what led to the shooting. Authorities have not released additional details about what happened immediately before the gunfire or identified a suspected motive.
Police also continue to search for the person or people responsible. Investigators are asking anyone who witnessed the shooting or may have information about the circumstances surrounding it to come forward.
