Experience working with the persistently mentally ill and/or co-occuring disorder adult population in a Community Support Program.

Masters Degree in mental health services or related field from an approved college/university and certified CSAC or SAC.

Bilingual in Spanish.  Case manage and advocate for caseload of adult consumers with co-occuring disorders preferably 3000 hours experience working with the population.  Effectively contributes as a multi-interdisciplinary treatment team member/leader Knowledge of the Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) and Integrated Dual DIAGNOSIS Treatment (IDDT) model of care ability to provide individual and group therapy ability to coordinate the services of community agencies providing social, health and rehabilitation services for the target population.  Document clients problems and formulate individual recovery plans to meet those needs to make home visits, arrange for physical, medical and/or psychological assessments and/or treatment, including alcohol and other drug abuse (AODA).  Provide on-call services during the week, weekend and holidays on a rotated schedule and make necessary contact as dictated by the precipitating crisis involving the client to attend staff development programs and in-service training.

Social Worker (English/Spanish)

Waukesha County Department of Health and Human Services is looking for a bilingual Social Worker to work in the Access II Unit. The Access Unit is responsible for information and referral services as well as assessments in the areas of child abuse/neglect, requests for out of home placement, parent/teen conflicts, and fulfillment of various court intake functions. Access staff serves as the initial assessors of a broad variety of referrals from the community. These referrals can be by telephone, written requests/reports or “walk-ins”. The staff needs to gather accurate and necessary information to properly assess these calls and to determine the appropriate agency response.

Work Schedule: 40-hour work week. Monday – Friday 8:00 am to 4:30 pm. Evening hours can be expected.

Requirements: Bachelor’s degree plus certification or eligibility for State of Wisconsin Social Worker Certification. Social Worker Certification must be obtained within 6 months of employment. Ability to read, write and speak Spanish fluently. Must be fluent in Spanish and culturally sensitive and competent in working with Latino families.

Salary: $49,899 – $65,998 per year with excellent benefits.

Waukesha County has a population of 390,730 and is located in the Southeast corner of Wisconsin, next to the Milwaukee Metropolitan area, two hours northwest of Chicago, 30 minutes from downtown Milwaukee and approximately one hour from Madison.
