Wisconsin Nutrition Education Program (WNEP) County Administrator

The Wisconsin Nutrition Education Program is a major effort within Cooperative Extensions Family Living Programs. The aim of Family Living Programs is to enhance the quality of family and community decisions that affect the family and to increase the families’ abilities to adapt to and effect change. Within this broader aim, the purpose of this position is to provide leadership for the Milwaukee County Nutrition Education Program including: collaborating with local agencies to ensure the delivery of nutrition education to low-income residents (people who are eligible to receive food stamps or FoodShare), staff training and supervision, and managing the program budget.

The 4-H Youth Development Advisor is an educational leader in teaching, accessing and applying research findings in the social, human and behavioral sciences.  The 4-H Youth Development Program Advisor takes a scholarly approach in organizing community resources in support of the inclusive positive development of youth, especially in the areas of leadership and civic engagement.


4-H Youth Development programming in Wisconsin has a dual focus.  It provides inclusive educational programs for youth through 4-H community clubs.  While local 4-H community clubs are Extension’s fundamental model for youth programming, other models of direct youth development programming are also utilized.  The second area of focus for 4-H Youth Development personnel is in the area of youth development leadership for communities.  We are recruiting for two positions in the following counties listed below:

Instructional Specialist(s) – Two 50% positions



The University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee Veterans Upward Bound Program is seeking applications from individuals interested in a half-time non-teaching, academic staff position as an Instructional Specialist. The Veterans Upward Bound Program provides opportunities for participants to succeed in higher education pursuits. This position will be responsible for providing educational, academic and career advising, counseling, and assisting with the planning and implementation of curriculum, and support services to veterans. Candidates should possess the ability to travel using one’s own automobile, and be able to work some evenings and weekends. Qualified candidates must have a Bachelor’s degree at the time of hire, and 2 years post-baccalaureate experience working with veterans and veterans’ service organizations.


Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Education, counseling, curriculum and instruction or military science highly desirable; ability to relate to veterans of the Armed Forces; knowledgeable about the educational needs of veterans; experience in overcoming obstacles similar to those encountered by veterans; pre-College and /or post-secondary education work experience and/or in assisting veterans with the college enrollment/access process; knowledgeable of veterans’ service providers in southeastern Wisconsin; experience in providing instructional activities; evidence of strong written and oral communication skills; knowledge of the grant writing process a plus; experience with Microsoft Office Suite and ability to develop program related documents/materials; experience with database programs and/or data entry. Knowledge/experience with on-line learning tools and programs is also preferred.


This is a fixed term, no-prefix, non-teaching, academic staff appointment. Salary range is dependent on the level of educational and professional experience within the UWM academic staff salary structure and includes a comprehensive benefits package covered under the Wisconsin Retirement System.
