Paul Hamm assaulted a taxi driver in Ohio

Waukesha native and 2004 Olympic champion Paul Hamm has been charged in Ohio with assaulting a taxicab driver.  Hamm, 28, assistant gymnastics coach at Ohio State, is also “charged with criminal damaging and defrauding a livery/hostelry for allegedly damaging the window of the cab and refusing to pay a $23 fare”, according to a report by the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel.  The driver, Abdinasir Elmi, said Wednesday he picked up Hamm about 1:30 a.m. Saturday in the Arena District in Columbus, an area known for its bars and restaurants, and drove him to a residence in Upper Arlington.
